Love Kit's work and his obsession with the US flag

my grandson loves this book.

A spectacular array of both antique and vintage patriotic images. Please don't miss out viewing these cool pieces of patriotic memorabilia.

This book has some of the most interesting flag designs and uses. I make stained glass and was looking for some great patterns and this book had them.

I never thought I would write the headline above. Though I haven't read the book I've given it five stars because I've seen everything in it in a much better version: Long May She Wave: A Graphic History of the American Flag.Kit Hinrich's flag collection was originally published in 2001 as a much more sumptuous book from the same publisher. In fact '100 American flags' is just a drastically cut down version. The first book has five hundred flag images, 224 large pages, beautifully designed and printed. Perhaps best of all new copies are still available at about the same price as this later much smaller book, check around the net.

Compiled by one of the grandfathers of modern print design, this book, which features items from Kit Hinrichs' own personal collection, is a wonderful artistic expression of the Stars & Stripes through antique American flags, patriotic memorbilia, and art. I was very pleased with the quick delivery. I knew what I was ordering because I had seen the author on Martha Stewart. It was a great overview of his book. I am a Patriotic and flag nut, and this was right up my alley. I was not disappointed with this purchase.

100 American Flags is a very well-done, educational little book. Perfect for a Hostess gift for a 4th. of July Party. That's why I bought two - one for me and one for a dear friend who collects Americana and has a HUGE 4th. of July Bash every year.
